About Us

Empowering Neurodivergent Children Through Compassion, Expertise, and Innovation

At Horizon Hearts, we believe that every child has the right to learn, grow, and thrive—in a way that honours their unique abilities. Too often, children with autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, and other neurodevelopmental differences struggle to access the education and support they deserve.

We are here to change that.

With a foundation built on infant mental health, play therapy, autism intervention, and neurodiversity coaching, Horizon Hearts offers specialised, child-centred services that bridge the gap between education, therapy, and family support. Our approach is not about changing children to fit into the world—it’s about creating environments where they feel seen, understood, and empowered.

Our Mission

Our mission is to transform the landscape of support for neurodivergent children by providing deeply personalised, therapeutic, and educational care rooted in dignity, understanding, and empowerment. We are committed to creating environments where difference is not only accepted but celebrated—where children with autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, and other developmental needs are recognised for their strengths and nurtured with compassion.

Grounded in infant mental health, play therapy, and neurodiversity-informed approaches, our work centres on supporting the whole child: emotionally, socially, cognitively, and relationally. We reject one-size-fits-all models and instead design affirming, individualised pathways that honour each child’s voice, autonomy, and rhythm of development

Through a strong partnership with families, caregivers, educators, and allied professionals, we walk alongside each child with unwavering belief in their potential, building bridges between homes, schools, and communities. Our mission is not just to help children access support, but to empower them to thrive with confidence and authenticity in every area of life

Our Vision

We envision a world where neurodivergent children are no longer asked to fit into systems that were not built for them. Instead, we dream of a future where education, therapy, and community structures evolve to meet children where they are with curiosity, compassion, and courage.

Horizon Hearts aspires to lead this shift in Rwanda and beyond, normalising child-led, neuro-affirming care that is rooted in connection, not correction. Our vision is one where every child regardless of diagnosis, communication style, or developmental path has equitable access to meaningful education, emotional safety, and lifelong opportunity.

We see families supported, not stigmatised. We see schools transformed into inclusive, nurturing environments. And we see neurodivergent children growing up knowing they are valued, capable, and celebrated exactly as they are.

Our Practice Values

We prioritise the physical and emotional safety of every child, ensuring all environments and interactions support security, trust, and well-being.

We treat every child with unconditional respect, upholding their rights and honouring their unique identities, preferences, and voices.

We foster a culture of compassion, actively listening to the lived experiences of children and families, and responding with sensitivity and care.

We champion inclusive practices that welcome and support all children—regardless of communication style, ability, or background.

We uphold the highest standards in therapeutic practice, maintaining consistency, integrity, and care in all our relationships and responsibilities.

We work alongside parents, caregivers, educators, and allied professionals to create holistic, unified plans that support each child’s growth and well-being.

We communicate openly and honestly with families about every step of the journey, from progress tracking to policy decisions.

Every child is unique. We develop flexible, child-led strategies that reflect their interests, needs, and natural rhythms—never a one-size-fits-all approach.

We invest in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to ensure our team remains responsive, informed, and impactful.

We stand for neurodivergent children—amplifying their voices, challenging stigma, and promoting systems that celebrate difference rather than demand conformity.
